I rarely turn down a beer when offered by a host, and it was no different recently when I was offered a clear, label-less bottle with only the neck ring for identification. I was intrigued, and thought I’d give it a try before checking out what information I could glean from the minimal labelling. I was pleasantly surprised at the flavour, hint of sweetness, and crispness. (at this point, I have to admit, I was drinking from the bottle, not a glass, and thus missing an important part of the drinking experience). Further investigation led to PC Pilsner. Apparently all their offerings are label-less.
PC makes a beer? (I do vaguely recall Dave Nichol promoting PC beer and he’s been gone since 1993). So with minimal expectations I also tried their Cervesa, and was again pleasantly surprised. Does this beer compare with the Hopslam, or Hardcore IPA, absolutely not, but is it a great alternative to the typical cheapo’s in the fridge on a hot summer day. Yes.
PC beer is brewed by “White Water Brewing Company” no, not that White Water Brewery from N. Ireland, but one from Waterloo, ON, more commonly known as Brick Brewing Co. Brick was born in 1984 and bills itself as the first craft brewer in Ontario. In 1995 Brick Brewery was granted the only license outside of
Rather than review each one, we’re just bringing you the information to choose for yourself. These beers are typical PC products, just like their food offerings, a reasonable facsimile of the original. That being said, for what you are paying, it’s a good beer. If you are going to choose a “discount” beer, I’d pick this one, both for the flavor, and because you are supporting Ontario’s largest Canadian-owned and publicly held brewery. I plan on having some in the fridge for those friends you let hang around that still drink Bud.

Been buying PC Honey Red for a few months now. Prefer it over the Lakeport Honey--another "discount" beer--because it does have a hint more honey and a smooth aftertaste that I haven't experienced in other discount beers.
