Granville Island Brewing - English Bay Pale Ale

Granville Island Brewing
English Bay Pale Ale
5% ABV

"Our ENGLISH BAY PALE ALE has a smooth, mild flavour brimming with West Coast character and a caramel malt aroma. A true pale ale, it gets its perfect balance from natural carbonation and careful maturing under the watchful eye of our brewmaster."

the Look: rich maple syrup in colour, good legs on the head, leaving lace on the glass, finished the look perfectly.

the Smell: you could smell breads, malts, and a little burnt sugars from the roasted caramel notes.

the Taste: definite caramel notes, good roasty hints, oh so light hops.

the Feel: unexpectedly light, I was thinking there would be a bigger "mouthfeel" based on the colour in the pour.

Overall: I enjoyed this beer, poured form the bottle at the table. Its so light you could drink a few and get nice flavour throughout. I would consider this with a mildly spicy order of wings, the brewery recommends grilled meats. Overall, I'd give this beer a "B+".

In Ontario, good luck. We managed to get one at a local craft brew hot spot, Morrissey House.
for those a little closer to the west coast, Granville offers a nice "where to buy tool" here.
