Cool Local Beer for Hot Summer Days - Wild Rose Brewery Launches Next Seasonal brew

Calgary, AB

Wild Rose Brewery, Alberta’s local craft brewer, is pleased to announce the launch of Wild Rose Kolsch on Thursday, July 7, 2011. Originally brewed in Köln (Cologne), Germany, this locally brewed ale was made in the unique German style. The latest addition to their Seasonal Release line-up, Wild Rose KOLSCH is available only on draft at a selection of favourite watering holes in Calgary.

Wild Rose Kolsch Description:

Wild Rose Kolsch has a delicate fruitiness and a prominent, but not extreme hoppiness. Bright straw-yellow in colour, Kolsch are often mistaken for lagers. In fact, this beer style is an ale which is top fermented at a relatively warm temperature and then lagered, or aged, at a cooler temperature for about eight weeks.

Brew Specs:

§ Blend of the best Alberta malted barley

§ Tettnang, Vanguard, and German Select hops

§ 5.5% alc. / vol.

§ 13.5°P Original Gravity

§ 30 IBU

§ 6 SRM

To celebrate the launch the Kolsch, two special cask conditioned kegs will be tapped over two days - Thursday July 7th and Friday July 8th at 4pm MST at the Wild Rose Brewery & Taproom. Crafted in limited quantities, Wild Rose Kolsch will be available only on draught at select restaurants and bars including The Ship and Anchor in Calgary and at Wild Rose Brewery & Taproom.
