Dogfish Head - 60 Minute IPA

6% ABV

60 IBU's

"Our 60 Minute IPA is continuously hopped - more than 60 hop additions over a 60 minute boil (getting a vibe yet of where the name came from?). 60 Minute is a session India Pale Ale brewed with a slew of great NorthWest hops. A powerful, but balanced East Coast I.P.A. with a lot of citrusy hop character. The session beer for hardcore beer enthusiasts!"

The Pour

Poured from a 12 oz bottle, this IPA has a wonderful golden orange sunburst-like colour. With two fingers of fluffy white head, there is plenty of carbonation streaming off of the glass. Nice looking beer.

Nice hints of citrus and pine. Some malt notes and cereal grains also present. There is also a sweetness that comes through. Very rich and pleasant smelling for sure.

Right away your mouth is rewarded with the citrus and pine flavours. There is a pleasant earthiness to the back of the mouth. Definitely has some sweetness over the middle of the tongue. Not overly bitter, with a nice medium mouthfeel that starts to dry in the finish.

Overall Impressions

This is probably the one beer that put Dogfish Head on the map. Not as "Off Centered" as some of their offerings, and very true to style. This is a fantastic beer to enjoy all summer long when you are looking for some of that citrusy, thirst quenching goodness. This is a well balanced and solid beer. Continuously hopped, this is probably the most famous East Coast IPA and for good reason. I would give it an A . Very tasty indeed!
