Samuel Adams - Summer Ale

5.5% ABV

"Bright and citrusy, brewed with Grains of Paradise.

Samuel Adams® Summer Ale is an American wheat ale. This summer seasonal uses malted wheat, lemon peel and Grains of Paradise, a rare pepper from Africa first used as a brewing spice in the 13th century, to create a crisp taste, spicy flavor and medium body. The ale fermentation imparts a background tropical fruit note reminiscent of mangos and peaches. All of these flavors come together to create a thirst quenching, clean finishing beer perfect for those warm summer days"

The Pour

This ale pours a beautiful bright golden yellow with a thin white head.

The Aroma

The Aroma is very light on this one, almost too light. There a very small hint of bread and lemons.

The Taste

The taste is very light and refreshing. There are definite notes of citrus coming from the lemon and the hops. It has a light mouth feel and lemon finish.

Overall impressions

Although I am not a fan of the big brewery lime craze this is very different. This is a well crafted ale brewed with lemon instead of a cheap lager covered up with lime. This is a perfect hot day beer with a clean taste. I would rate this beer a 8 out of 10.
