Short's Brewery - Good Humans

8% ABV

"This Double Brown Ale, made with Carabrown Malt, was created to showcase one of Briess Malting Company’s new products. Although it was thought to be a onetime brewing event, this beer is now one of our most recent successes. Sweet malty aromas mingle with prominent toasted caramel and toffee flavors. This beer finishes pleasingly dry, with a bouquet of hops that have slight fruity qualities."

This ale pours a dark copper colour with a reddish tint. It has a half finger off white head. The head has good retention and is very dense.

The aroma is heavy on pine a citrus, and hint of malts in the background.

The taste has a nice sweet malt, caramel taste with very nice citrus hop finish. It has a full body and a very creamy mouth feel.

My overall impressions of this ale is great. This ale was a bit of a surprise for me. Hoppy dark ales are not usually high on my list. This was nicely balanced wilt a great malt and hop character. The mouth feel is thick and creamy with no indication of 8% abv. This is the best dry hopped brown ale I have tried in recent memory. I would rate this an 8 out of 10.
