25 Years Of What?

Toronto, ON

Established February 13, 1988

For twenty-five years now C'est What? has been preaching from the book of local. They have always believed that Toronto has so much to offer that they would let the Irish have their own kind of pubs, the French their own style of wine, the Americans their own roadhouse food, and leave top-forty music to the radio stations.

From the time they first opened our doors at 11:00 PM on Thursday February 13, 1988 they have been proud local cultural ambassadors. They embrace Toronto's multiculturalism with a diverse menu of fresh, made from scratch, comfort food with real honest ingredients. As the city's original craft beer and wine restaurant they boast a selection of local craft beer, wine, and indie music that is unsurpassed in Toronto.

Twenty-five years into this grand experiment they are now part of Toronto's history and heritage. Against all conventional wisdom they have continually championed the "little guy", have survived to tell the tale, and have been an example to a new generation of establishments that are forging their own way without the influence of corporate tie-ins.

As with any endeavour or individual, they are not perfect, but their belief that "If it's worth doing, it's worth doing well" keeps Torontonians showing up at C'est What every day. "As long as you keep visiting, we'll keep welcoming you in and together we'll see what the next twenty-five years has to offer".

Congrats C'est What, here's to another 25 years!
