Kensington Brewing Company Announces Construction of New Brewery, Retail Store & Bar at 299 Augusta Avenue

Toronto, ON

The Kensington Brewing Company formally announced today, the construction of a full production brewery at 299 Augusta Avenue in Toronto’s historic Kensington Market. They are working with the property developer, architects and suppliers to create a completely unique facility that will feature an on-site retail store and bar. Construction is scheduled to begin this spring and they hope to open by the winter of 2013.

The new brewery will operate with a mandate to push boundaries, explore beer styles and produce specialty beer. A retail store will operate on a full time basis, offering a diverse selection of bottles and growler fills. The bar will offer a wide range of beer produced entirely in house, as well as collaborative beer and special versions of our core offerings.

They are proud to continue in the tradition of the market as an independently owned business with community at the forefront of their endeavors. They look forward to working with our neighbours to utilize natural, market-sourced ingredients from Kensington vendors to brew delicious craft beer!

Dave Lee has joined the Kensington Brewing Company as Head Brewer. Dave holds an International Diploma in Brewing Technology, the highest brewing certification offered by the world-renowned Sibel Institute in Chicago. He comes to the Kensington Brewing Company after 5 years with the Mill Street Brewery where he gained valuable experience as a brewer. His primary duties will lie in executing the creative direction of the KBCo, brew house operations and managing our quality assurance program.
