Wellington Brewery Gives The Boot to their Bottles

Guelph, ON

This year has been off to a busy start for Wellington Brewery. In January, the brewery announced a major expansion to their brewing facility. Now, Wellington Brewery is excited to release all-new package designs for their award-winning line-up of craft beers. The re-branding is the result of an ongoing transition away from the brewery's use of the "Duke of Wellington", towards the use of the iconic Wellington rubber boot as a logo.

Last summer Wellington Brewery launched their new look on 473 mL tall cans at the LCBO and now they're ready to roll out the fresh designs on their 341 mL bottles and 6 Pack boxes.  The new branding from Toronto design firm Hayes & Company, puts a modern twist on Wellington's classic line-up of craft beers with a new look that is colourful, fun, and engaging.

On the side of each 6-pack box the brewery has featured an innovative approach to describing the characteristics of each beer by including technical specs such as the I.B.U. (bitterness), O.G. (Original Gravity), and a visual indicator of the colour of each beer. With these details Wellington aims to help craft beer drinkers know exactly what to expect from each beer.

Vice-President Brent Davies is excited to see what customers will think, saying "it's the same consistent, high-quality beers we've become known for with a design that is more fun, and something we hope will encourage new craft beer drinkers to try a welly on".

In the coming months, look for these new bottles and 6-pack boxes to be hitting the shelves at over 250 Beer Store locations across Ontario and at bars and restaurants that carry Wellington products.
