Amsterdam Brewery Re-Releases Framboise in LCBO This Spring

Toronto, ON

The Amsterdam Brewery, one of Toronto’s oldest independently owned and operated craft breweries, is set to re-release one of their most decorated and sought after beers – “Framboise” in the LCBO next week.
Framboise is brewed using an old world recipe that blends Belgian wheat malt with real Canadian raspberries. In fact, 2.2 pounds of fresh raspberries goes into making every 750ml bottle, resulting in an abundantly obvious ruby red beer with a crisp fruit flavour. Brewed only once a year, Framboise is best served chilled and shared with friends.

Amsterdam Framboise is the brewery’s highest award winning beer taking home six awards in the past three years including 2 Gold Medals at the Canadian Brewing Awards, 2 Gold Medals at the Ontario Brewing Awards, and a Bronze Medal at the World Beer Cup.

“Framboise has a strong and loyal following which convinced us to bring it out of retirement” says Jamie Mistry, Brewmaster at The Amsterdam Brewery. “What makes Framboise so special is the amount of work we have to put into this brew for it to turn out perfect. From the selection of the whole raspberries and how much to put into each brew, to deciding how long to keep the beer on the fruit is very important.”
Framboise is available for sale in 750mL ceramic, swing-top bottles from select LCBOs starting the week of May 13, 2013 ($11.95, LCBO# 637769) and the Amsterdam Brewery Retail Store (45 Esandar Dr., 416-504-6882).
