Garrison Brewing Releases Second One-Hop Brew in Series

Halifax, NS

One of Nova Scotia’s most innovative breweries, Garrison Brewing, has released the latest in their One-Hop beer series - Citra One-Hop IPA.  Following the successful winter launch of Comet One-Hop IPA, Garrison Brewing is showcasing a second great hop - Citra - in this SMASH (single malt, single hop) brew. This special India Pale Ale is boldly hopped with fruity notes of sweet mango and lemon, balanced by caramel notes from locally-grown Maritime Pale Ale Malt.

Citra is a recently developed (2007), high-alpha-acid (13%) aroma hop known for tasty citrus and tropical fruit characters. "We first utilized Citra in our Mash-up collaboration with Phillips Brewery and really liked it." said Garrison Brewmaster, Daniel Girard. "Its supply is also quite limited so we've had to commit to quite a bit or risk running out."

Citra One-Hop IPA launches this weekend and will be available right through the summer. Nova
Scotians can pick-up this specialty brew from the following locations:

  • many NSLC stores;
  • all four private stores;
  • on tap for a limited time at places like Freeman’s Little NY, The Wooden Monkey, The Press Gang and The Argyle; and
  • Garrison Brewery (1149 Marginal Road) in bottles and on tap for growlers and growlito's.
